Wow!!!!! That's so cool. I'd never heard it. And I've been the biggest fan of Desmond Tutu since forever and ever. (I grew up in apartheid South Africa.)Demon Goddess wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 5:23 pmOn the spoon...

Re: What is a Bateleur? (Tarot of Marseilles)
Raconteur is fine and lovely. That's what Hadar says as well. He's a spokesman of some sort. As for the spoon, it's very important for Le Mat/Le Fou/Le Fol. Some people don't notice it's a spoon for a long time. On some of the historical decks it's not a spoon though - but it 's now considered of vi...

Re: Technical question
Great!! You know I was thinking, if you removed the numbers from the Major Arcana, I think that it would be okay, until the forum starts growing to a nice size, to put all the traditions in the same section. If you removed the numbers from them. I think even a diehard TdMer can quite happily live wi...

The Tarot... and a poem by Rumi
When I read this poem by Rumi, all the tarot cards starting flashing through my mind. CBD jumble.jpg I was dead, then alive. Weeping, then laughing. The power of love came into me, and I became fierce like a lion, then tender like the evening star. He said, ‘You’re not mad enough. You don’t belong i...

Re: An Umbrae Rant #1
Great post Umbrae (god it's good to call you Umbrae again!!) And Demon Goddess, that's great that you channel a giant golden dragon. An act of grace if ever there was any. Is he/she of the race of giants, or just oversized? Did you know that La Force (Strength) in the Tarot of Marseilles is most lik...

The socialist roots and utopian dreams of Eliphas Lévi
The Thinker's Garden, a truly lovely website, has an article on Eliphas Lévi which I enjoyed from the first to the last word. I'm sharing it with you here because I think there will by many who would be interested, view that Lévi's name is so connected to the Tarot. http://www.thethinkersgarden.com/...

Re: La Lune XVIII (The Moon)
TdM is not so difficult to read. It just requires a shift in perception. It's more subtle though, perhaps that is where the difficulty lies. Particularly of course the minors. But they're not as difficult as one thinks. I use elements and numbers an awful lot and it works splendidly. I have always b...

Re: Technical question
Demon Goddess, Oh, these things take time to set up. It's already wonderful that there's this new forum. I ran a TdM forum once with a friend, and another on Tarot in general. The Blue and the Red forum, but we merged them in the end. It's better in the beginning not to have too many subforums. Beca...

Technical question
I don't see a sub forum for technical assistance. But maybe it's there and I'm being blinded by the Sun XIX. I posted an attachment (picture) but it's very small and can't be clicked on to be made bigger. I assume it's something to do with the amount of pixels/size? What size must one make it for it...
