There are 22 cards in the Major Arcana. It is common belief that a deck made up of only these cards is sufficient to become a brilliant tarot reader. I suggest learning these cards first.
These cards are most commonly known as the Majors, the Trumps, the Atus or the Keys, interchangeably.
The cards correspond with the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Known as the "Greater Mysteries", each card provides divinatory meanings based on the astrological correspondences of the Hebrew letters.
